Mylan Nifedipine ER (Nifedipine extended-release) is an antihypertensive and antianginal agent (chest pain). It is typically used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Mylan Nifedipine ER (Nifedipine extended-release) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice. Tablets should be swallowed whole, do not crush, split, or chew. It can be taken with or without food. In addition to its desired action, Mylan Nifedipine ER (Nifedipine extended-release) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause flushing, peripheral edema (swelling of lower legs or hands) It may cause heartburn, nausea It may cause dizziness, headache Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nifedipine or any component of the formulation. It is considered contraindicated in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (heart attack). Severe hypotension (low blood pressure), cardiovascular shock (cardiac problem), breastfeeding, pregnancy or women of childbearing potential. Taking Mylan Nifedipine ER (Nifedipine extended-release) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Mylan Nifedipine ER (Nifedipine extended-release) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
