Description
Nifedipine (Nifedipine) is an antihypertensive and antianginal agent (chest pain). It is typically used for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). It may also have other uses.

Nifedipine (Nifedipine) is typically used three times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice. Swallow the capsule whole with a drink of water. Do not break, crush, chew or open up the capsules unless your doctor or pharmacist has said you can. It can be taken with or without food. WARNING: If you have thyroid problems, diabetes, stomach ulcers, heart disease, blood vessel disease, kidney disease, or a skin disease, discuss with your doctor how Nifedipine (Nifedipine) may affect your medical condition, how your medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of Nifedipine (Nifedipine), and whether any special monitoring is needed. In addition to its desired action, Nifedipine (Nifedipine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause flushing, peripheral edema (swelling of lower legs or hands) It may cause heartburn, nausea It may cause dizziness, headache Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nifedipine or any component of the formulation. It is considered contraindicated in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction (heart attack), severe hypotension (low blood pressure), cardiovascular shock (cardiac problem), breastfeeding, pregnancy or women of childbearing potential. Taking Nifedipine (Nifedipine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Nifedipine (Nifedipine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
