Description
Rasilez (Aliskiren) is an antihypertensive agent. It is typically used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It may also have other uses.

Rasilez (Aliskiren) is typically taken once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Take Rasilez (Aliskiren) with or without food, but take it the same way each day and at the same time. Swallow the tablets whole with a small amount of water. Do not chew or crush the tablets. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: When pregnancy is detected, discontinue therapy as soon as possible, asIt may cause injury and death to the developing fetus. People with type 2 diabetes may be at higher risk of side effects such as kidney problems, stroke, high potassium levels in the blood, and blood pressure that's too low. Use with caution in patients with diabetes and kidney impairment. In addition to its desired action, Rasilez (Aliskiren) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain. It may cause flu or cold symptoms (e.g., cough, sore throat or stuffy nose), feeling tired, and headache. It may cause skin rash and back pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to aliskiren or any component of the formulation. The concomitant use with an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor (antihypertensive medication) or angiotensin-receptor blocker (ARB) (antihypertensive medication) in patients with diabetes is contraindicated. Children < 2 years old should not use Rasilez (Aliskiren). Taking Rasilez (Aliskiren) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Rasilez (Aliskiren) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
