Description

Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin) is an antianginal agent. It is typically used alone or in combination with other medications to prevent angina attacks (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin) is typically used once or twice (as directed by your doctor) onto or under the tongue at the first sign of an angina attack. Do not inhale. The dose may be repeated twice with at least a five minute interval between each dose, or as directed by your doctor. If relief is still not obtained after three doses of nitroglycerin (i.e., 15 minutes), seek medical help immediately. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist.
WARNING: Headaches or symptoms of low blood pressure such as weakness or dizziness, particularly when getting up suddenly from a sitting or lying down position, may result from taking too much nitroglycerin. People who might be negatively affected by low blood pressure should use Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin) with caution. In addition to its desired action, Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause headaches, low blood pressure, syncope (temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure).
It may cause redness of the face, chest pain, dyspnea (shortness of breath).
It may cause asthenia (abnormal physical weakness or lack of energy).
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to nitroglycerin, other nitrates or nitrites (similar agents), or any component of the formulation, concurrent use with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (drugs used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction: Avanafil, sildenafil, tadalafil, or vardenafil), concurrent use with soluble guanylate cyclase stimulators (used to treat severe pulmonary arterial hypertension: a type of high blood pressure that affects the arteries in your lungs and the right side of your heart), acute circulatory failure or shock (the clinical expression of circulatory failure that results in inadequate cellular oxygen utilization), early myocardial infarction (heart attack). Taking Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.Mylan Nitro sublingual spray (Nitroglycerin)
