Description
Mylan Rimso 50 (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) is an anti-inflammatory agent. It is typically used for the symptomatic relief of patients with interstitial cystitis (a chronic condition causing bladder pressure, bladder pain. Bladder is a hollow organ in the lower abdomen that stores urine). It may also have other uses.

Mylan Rimso 50 (Dimethyl Sulfoxide)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Instillation of RIMSO-50 directly into the bladder may be accomplished by catheter (a tubular medical device) or special syringe and allow to remain for 15 minutes. Application of an analgesic (medicines that are used to relieve pain) lubricant gel such as lidocaine jelly to the urethra (duct that transmits urine from the bladder to the exterior of the body during urination) is suggested prior to insertion of the catheter to avoid spasm. Your doctor or nurse will administer Mylan Rimso 50 (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with urinary tract malignancy (cancer). In addition to its desired action, Mylan Rimso 50 (Dimethyl Sulfoxide) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause body odor, bladder pain, unpleasant taste. It may cause hypersensitivity reaction. Contraindications: There are no contraindications listed in the manufacturer's labeling.
