Description
Nimotop (Nimodipine) is an agent typically used to prevent changes in brain function after bleeding around the brain (subarachnoid haemorrhage). It may also have other uses.

Nimotop (Nimodipine) is typically used every four hours. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with liver problems In addition to its desired action, Nimotop (Nimodipine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause decreased blood pressure, bradycardia (slow heart rate) It may cause headaches, nausea Contraindications: concomitant use with certain medications (e.g., clarithromycin, telithromycin, delavirdine, indinavir, nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, and nefazodone) Taking Nimotop (Nimodipine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Nimotop (Nimodipine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Nimotop (Nimodipine)
