Description
PDP Amantadine (Amantadine) is an antiparkinsonian agent. It is typically used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement, muscle control, and balance). It may also have other uses.

PDP Amantadine (Amantadine) is typically used twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with severe hepatic (liver) problems. Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular (heart) problems. Use with caution in patients with renal (kidney) problems. Use with caution in patients with a history of recurrent and eczematoid dermatitis (a common type of skin rashes). Use with caution in patients with a history of seizure disorders (is a central nervous system disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal). In addition to its desired action, PDP Amantadine (Amantadine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause orthostatic hypotension (a medical condition wherein a person's blood pressure drops when standing up or sitting down), syncope (temporary loss of consciousness caused by a fall in blood pressure), hallucination (an experience involving the apparent perception of something not present). It may cause insomnia (difficulty falling asleep), anxiety (a feeling of worry), headache, dizziness. It may cause nausea, decreased appetite, constipation, vomiting. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to amantadine or any component of the formulation, end-stage kidney disease. Taking PDP Amantadine (Amantadine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with PDP Amantadine (Amantadine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
