PMS Salbutamol (Salbutamol)

Description

PMS Salbutamol (Salbutamol) is a bronchodilator. It is typically used to treat or prevent sudden worsening of shortness of breath and wheezing (bronchospasm) in patients with asthma (a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and may produce extra mucus), and prevent shortness of breath during exercise. It may also have other uses.

PMS Salbutamol (Salbutamol) is typically inhaled once and can be repeated every 4 to 6 hours to a maximum 4 times a day if necessary. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Salbutamol should only be inhaled from a nebulizer. It must not be injected or swallowed. Use your nebulizer in a well ventilated room. Some of the mist will be released into the air and may be breathed in by others. Slowly squeeze the solution into the nebulizer cup. Breathe calmly and evenly as much as possible until no more mist is formed in the nebulizer chamber. At this point, treatment is finished. After use discard any solution remaining in the nebulizer cup. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist.

WARNING: Occasionally, inhaled medications such as Salbutamol may cause the airways to spasm and close up, making breathing even more difficulty (bronchospasm) and can be life-threatening. Use with caution in patients with diabetes (may increase blood sugar level), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid, a gland in the neck), or seizure disorders.

In addition to its desired action, PMS Salbutamol (Salbutamol) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause excitement, nervousness, trembling, or palpitations (rapid heartbeat).
It may cause dizziness, headache, or trouble sleeping.
It may cause infections of the respiratory tract (e.g., sore throat), increase blood pressure, chest pain, or nausea.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Salbutamol or any component of the formulation.

Taking PMS Salbutamol (Salbutamol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
