Description
Prevacid FasTab (Lansoprazole delayed-release) is typically used for acidity and acid reflux. It is typically used for the short-term treatment of symptomatic GERD (acid reflux) in children ≥1 year of age and adults, long-term treatment of pathological hypersecretory (excessive production of a bodily secretion) conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome by adults. It may also have other uses.

Prevacid FasTab (Lansoprazole delayed-release)'s dosage depends on the condition (usual range: 15 mg - 90 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer 30 to 60 minutes before a meal, best if taken before breakfast. If administering twice daily, first dose should be administered before breakfast and the second dose before dinner. WARNING: This medication may diminish the therapeutic effect of clopidogrel (a blood thinner). In addition to its desired action, Prevacid FasTab (Lansoprazole delayed-release) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea It may cause dizziness, headache It may cause acne vulgaris, alopecia (hair loss), contact dermatitis (skin disease), diaphoresis (excessive sweating) Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to lansoprazole or any component of the formulation, concomitant use with products that contain rilpivirine Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. A treatment with Prevacid FasTab (Lansoprazole delayed-release) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
