Description
Rebif (Interferon Beta-1A Prefilled Syringe) is an immunomodulatory agent. It is typically used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS). It is also used to treat people who have had a single event of MS symptoms, which are likely a first sign of multiple sclerosis. Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and disabling disease caused by the body’s own defense system attacking and destroying the protective covering (myelin) surrounding nerve fibres. Interferon beta-1a works by slowing down the attack of the body’s defense cells on the nerves. It may also have other uses.
