Description

Recombivax HB (Hepatitis B vaccine) typically used for the prevention of hepatitis B disease (liver disease caused by a virus).

Additional information

Recombivax HB (Hepatitis B vaccine) is typically taken as 3 total doses administered at 0, 1, and 6 months. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinical setting. It will be injected into a muscle.
WARNING: Syncope (fainting) has been reported with use of injectable vaccines and may result in serious secondary injury
In addition to its desired action, Recombivax HB (Hepatitis B vaccine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness
It may cause drowsiness, fever of 37.7°C (100°F) or higher
It may cause hard lump, redness, swelling, pain, itching, purple spot, tenderness, or warmth at the place of injection
Contraindications: Severe allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to yeast, hepatitis B vaccine, or any component of the formulation.
Taking Recombivax HB (Hepatitis B vaccine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
