Description
Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) is an antipsychotic agent. It is typically used to treat adults with schizophrenia (serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally) or major depressive disorder (a common and serious medical illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act). It may also have other uses.

Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with or without food. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with diabetes (a disease that occurs when your blood sugar is too high) or other disorders of glucose (sugar) regulation. Use with caution in patients at risk of orthostatic hypotension (a form of low blood pressure that happens when you stand up from sitting or lying down). Use with caution in elderly patients with dementia (loss of memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking abilities) due to greater risk of adverse effects and death. Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment. Use with caution in patients at risk of seizures (sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain). This drug may cause tardive dyskinesia (a disorder that involves involuntary movements). If signs and symptoms of tardive dyskinesia appear in a patient on REXULTI, drug discontinuation should be considered. In addition to its desired action, Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause back or muscle pain, diarrhea, drowsiness, heartburn, constipation, fatigue, akathisia (movement disorder). It may cause skin rash, stomach pain, headache, weight gain, abnormal dreams, urinary tract infection. Contraindications: Do not take Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) if you are allergic to brexpiprazole or any ingredients of the medication. Taking Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Rexulti (Brexpiprazole) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
