Description

SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac) is a painkiller agent. It is typically used for the treatment of non-chronic posttraumatic (occurring after or as a result of trauma) inflammation in non-penetrating wounds and the treatment of postoperative (after surgery) inflammation following cataract surgery (a procedure to remove the lens of your eye and, in most cases, replace it with an artificial lens). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac) is typically used as follows: Pre-operatively: instill 1 drop in the conjunctival sac up to 5 times during the 3 hours preceding surgery. Post-operatively: instill 1 drop in the conjunctival sac 15, 30 and 45 minutes following surgery,
then 3 to 5 times daily, for up to 4 weeks. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact the pharmacist. For ophthalmic (eye) use only, avoid contact of bottle tip with skin or eye. Instill drops into conjunctival sac (a gap or space formed between the eyelids and eyeball), nasolacrimal occlusion (a simple technique prevent the drug from flowing into the drainage duct) or closing the eye for 2 minutes after administration may limit systemic absorption and increase local activity. In postoperative patients, separate bottles should be used for each eye if both eyes require treatment. Soft contact lenses should be removed prior to administration and should not be reinserted for at least 15 minutes afterwards. Wait at least 5 minutes before administering other types of eye drops.

WARNING: May slow/delay healing or prolong bleeding time following surgery. Use caution in patients at risk of bleeding or taking concomitant medication that may increase risk of bleeding and in patients receiving concomitant topical steroid therapy due to risks for impaired/delayed healing and corneal (the transparent layer forming the front of the eye) complications.

In addition to its desired action, SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause sensitivity to light, blurred vision, eye redness
It may cause itchiness, mild-to-moderate burning feeling

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or any component of the formulation

Taking SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.

A treatment with SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.SDZ Diclofenac (Diclofenac)
