Description
SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram) is an antidepressant. It is typically used for the acute and maintenance treatment of unipolar major depressive disorder and for the acute treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram) is typically used once daily for the acute and maintenance treatment of unipolar major depressive disorder and for the acute treatment of generalized anxiety disorder. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer without regard to meals (with or without food). WARNING: lower doses are required for elderly patients, older patients with depression being treated with an antidepressant should be closely monitored for response and adverse effects. Use with caution in patients with kidney, liver and cardiac (heart) diseases. Use with caution in patients who have brain damage or suffer from alcoholism. In addition to its desired action, SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause urinary tract infections, decrease in appetite, abdominal pain, flatulence (gas) and nausea. It may cause headaches, dizziness, and insomnia. It may cause decreased libido, impotence, and menstrual disease. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to escitalopram, citalopram, or any component of the formulation, use of medicines to treat psychiatric disorders (concurrently or within 14 days of discontinuing either escitalopram or the other medications), known history of certain cardiac (heart) diseases. Taking SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.SDZ Escitalopram (Escitalopram)
