Description
SDZ Telmisartan (Telmisartan) is a antihypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of high blood pressure. It is also used to reduce the risk of non-fatal heart attack or non-fatal stroke in adults. It may also have other uses.

SDZ Telmisartan (Telmisartan)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily in the usual range (20 mg - 80 mg). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Angioedema or water retention has been reported rarely. Symptomatic hypotension or low blood pressure may occur upon initiation in patients who are salt- or volume-depleted. May be associated with deterioration of kidney function. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, SDZ Telmisartan (Telmisartan) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause chest pain, high blood pressure, headache, pain and fatigue. It may cause diarrhea, stomach pain, back pain, urinary tract infections and nausea. It may cause cough and lungs infections. Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity or severe allergy to telmisartan or any component of the formulation, concurrent use of aliskiren in patients with diabetes. Concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with moderate to severe kidney impairment, pregnancy, breastfeeding, rare hereditary condition of fructose intolerance. Taking SDZ Telmisartan (Telmisartan) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor.
