Shake the Skunk-Off shampoo bottle well before each use. It is crucial to apply Skunk-Off Shampoo directly to your pet’s dry coat, as wetting the fur beforehand can trap the skunk oils. Concentrate the application on the area of the direct hit, then massage the Skunk-Off Shampoo thoroughly into the coat and down to the skin. When treating the face, use a cloth to carefully apply the product to avoid the eyes. Allow the shampoo to remain on the coat for 3 to 5 minutes; this contact time is vital for the formula to break down the oils and neutralize the odor. Afterwards, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water until all shampoo and residue are removed. For severe or direct hits, the entire process may be repeated immediately. Skunk-Off Shampoo is intended for topical use. Avoid direct contact with your pet's eyes; if contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water. While safe for cats, ensure the product is rinsed out with extreme thoroughness to prevent ingestion during grooming, which can cause drooling.
