Description
Taro Ciclopirox (Ciclopirox) is an antifungal agent. It is typically used as topical treatment for the treatment of immunocompetent (normal immunity) patients with mild to moderate onychomycosis (fungal infection of the nails that causes discoloration, thickening, and separation from the nail bed) of fingernails and toenails. It may also have other uses.

Taro Ciclopirox (Ciclopirox) is typically used as topical treatment, apply to adjacent skin and affected nails daily (as a part of a comprehensive management program for onychomycosis). Remove with alcohol every 7 days. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. WARNING: For topical use only, avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes. Use of occlusive dressings or wrappings should be avoided. Use with caution in patient with low immunity. In addition to its desired action, Taro Ciclopirox (Ciclopirox) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause application site burning, local irritation and local pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to ciclopirox or any component of the formulation. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Taro Ciclopirox (Ciclopirox) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
