Additional information

Taro Sone (Betamethasone) is typically used once or twice per day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Apply the smallest amount that will cover affected area. For topical use only, avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

WARNING: For all formulations, children may absorb proportionally larger amounts after topical application and may be more prone to systemic effects. For topical use only, avoid contact with eyes. Because of the risk of adverse effects, systemic corticosteroids should be used cautiously in the elderly, in the smallest possible dose, and for the shortest possible time. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning.

In addition to its desired action, Taro Sone (Betamethasone) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause application site reaction like application site burning, stinging of the skin, and application-site pruritus.
It may cause acne vulgaris, alopecia (hair loss).

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to betamethasone, other corticosteroids, or any component of the formulation. Viral diseases (e.g., herpes simplex, chickenpox, vaccine), untreated bacterial, fungal, parasitic, syphilis (bacterial infection usually spread by sexual contact), and tubercular infection (bacterial infection) involving the skin.

Taking Taro Sone (Betamethasone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Taro Sone (Betamethasone) for the fetus. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
