Trelegy Ellipta (Fluticasone Umeclidinium Vilanterol) is typically used as one inhalation once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. For oral inhalation only, administer at the same time each day. Rinse your mouth with water after use and spit to reduce risk of throat and mouth infection.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with major risk factors for decreased bone mineral content such as prolonged immobilization, postmenopausal status, tobacco use, advanced age, poor nutrition. Use with caution in patients with heart disease, diabetes mellitus, moderate or severe liver impairment, hypokalemia (low levels of potassium in blood). Use with caution in patients with increased intraocular pressure (eye problem), seizure disorder (abnormal brain activity).
In addition to its desired action, Trelegy Ellipta (Fluticasone Umeclidinium Vilanterol) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause upper respiratory tract infections, thrush in your mouth and throat (rinse your mouth with water without swallowing after use to help prevent this), headache, back pain, joint pain, flu, inflammation of the sinuses It may cause nasopharyngitis (swelling of the nasal passages and the back of the throat), pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharynx, an organ in the back of the throat), runny nose
It may cause constipation, diarrhea, urinary tract infection, influenza Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to fluticasone, umeclidinium, vilanterol, or any component of the formulation, severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins, primary treatment of status asthmaticus (exacerbation of asthma that remains unresponsive to initial treatment or other acute episodes of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma where intensive measures are required)
Taking Trelegy Ellipta (Fluticasone Umeclidinium Vilanterol) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Trelegy Ellipta (Fluticasone Umeclidinium Vilanterol) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
