Description

Tremfya (Guselkumab) is an antipsoriatic agent. It is typically used to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis (long-term skin disease in which the skin cells grow faster than normal by adults). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Tremfya (Guselkumab)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer subcutaneously (under the skin) into front of thighs, lower abdomen (except for 2 inches around navel), or back of upper arms, do not inject into areas where the skin is tender, bruised, red, hard, thick, scaly, or affected by psoriasis. Tremfya is intended for use under the guidance and supervision of a physician. Tremfya may be administered by a healthcare professional or a patient or caregiver may administer the injection after proper training in subcutaneous injection technique
WARNING: Patients should be evaluated for tuberculosis (a potentially serious infectious disease that mainly affects the lungs) infection prior to initiating therapy. Do not administer to patients with an active tuberculosis infection. Tremfya may increase the risk of infection. Instruct patients to seek medical advice if signs or symptoms of clinically important chronic or acute infection occur. If a serious infection develops, discontinue Tremfya until the infection resolves. In addition to its desired action, Tremfya (Guselkumab) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause injection site reaction, skin rash, headache, joint pain.
It may cause headaches, infection, fever, cough, short of breath.
It may cause diarrhea, increased liver enzymes, stomach pain.
Contraindications: Serious hypersensitivity to guselkumab or any component of the formulation. Taking Tremfya (Guselkumab) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Tremfya (Guselkumab) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
