Description
Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone) is a corticosteroid agent. It is typically used in adults and adolescents for the symptomatic treatment of subacute and chronic inflammatory joint diseases. It may also be used for the intra articular use in children aged 3 – 12 years with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (a form of arthritis in children). It may also have other uses.

Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor will administer Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. Triamcinolone Hexacetonide Injectable Suspension must not be administered intravenously, intraocularly, epidurally or intrathecally. WARNING: This medication should be used with caution in patients with congestive heart failure (the heart is unable to pump blood around the body properly), hypertension (high blood pressure), or renal (kidneys) insufficiency. Use with caution in patients with gastrointestinal diseases due to perforation risk. In addition to its desired action, Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat It may cause increased pain or swelling, joint stiffness, fever, eye pain, eye problems It may cause rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, stomach cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody stools It may cause severe headache, ringing in your ears, dizziness, nausea, pain behind your eyes, stomach pain, lightheadedness Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to triamcinolone or any component of the formulation, infants and children up to 3 years of age. Triamcinolone Hexacetonide Injectable Suspension contains benzyl alcohol, which may provoke toxic reactions in children under 3 years of age. Patients with acute psychoses, active tuberculosis, herpes simplex keratitis, systemic mycoses and parasitoses. Taking Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Triamcinolone Hexacetonide (Triamcinolone) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
