Description
Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine) is a hypertensive agent. It is typically used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), including initial treatment in patients who will require multiple antihypertensives (medications used to decrease blood pressure) for adequate control. It may also have other uses.

Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer with or without food. WARNING: Angioedema or water retention has been reported rarely. increase risk of heart attacks, Symptomatic hypotension or low blood pressure may occur upon initiation in patients who are salt- or volume-depleted. May be associated with deterioration of kidney function. Use with caution in patient with kidney and liver problems. Use caution when initiating in patient with heart failure. Use with caution in patients with moderate or high cholesterol concentrations. Not recommended for initial therapy in patients ≥75 years of age. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause peripheral edema (water retention in the body extremities). It may cause orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure) and edema (water retention). It may cause dizziness and black pain. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity (severe allergy) to Amlodipine, telmisartan, or any component of the formulation, concomitant use with aliskiren in patients with diabetes mellitus (high blood sugar level). Taking Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Twynsta (Telmisartan Amlodipine)
