Description
Yaz Plus (Ethinyl Estradiol Drospirenone Levomefolate) is a combination of 3 medications: drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol and levomefolate. Drospirenone is a progestin and ethinyl estradiol is an estrogen. Levomefolate is the active form of folic acid. It is typically used to prevent pregnancy. For women who take birth control pills, the body is not able to turn folic acid into levomefolate as easily as it could when she was not taking birth control. The levomefolate replaces the folic acid the body is not creating. It is also used to treat moderate acne for women over 14 years of age who also want birth control and have started menstruating. It may also have other uses.
