Description

Zoloft (Sertraline) is an antidepressant. It is typically used to treat depression, panic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (disorder in which people have recurring, unwanted thoughts, ideas or sensations that make them feel driven to do something repetitively). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Zoloft (Sertraline) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. May be administered with or without food.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with liver impairment, in patients with a previous seizure disorder (sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain).
In addition to its desired action, Zoloft (Sertraline) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dyspepsia (painful, difficulty, or disturbed digestion), fatigue, insomnia, loose stools, nausea It may cause tremor, headache, paresthesia (numbness or a burning feeling that occurs most often in the extremities), loss of appetite It may cause decreased libido, delayed ejaculation, ejaculation failure It may cause excessive sweating, dry mouth
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to sertraline or any component of the formulation. Use of linezolid and similar agents or methylene blue (concurrently or within 14 days of stopping these agents or sertraline), concurrent use with Pimozide.
Taking Zoloft (Sertraline) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
A treatment with Zoloft (Sertraline) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Zoloft (Sertraline)
