Description
Zykadia (Ceritinib) is an anticancer agent. It is typically used to treat non-small cell lung cancer (type of lung cancer) that has spread to other parts of the body. It may also have other uses.

Zykadia (Ceritinib) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Take this drug with food. WARNING: ZYKADIA can cause gastrointestinal (stomach and intestine) adverse reactions. ZYKADIA can cause hepatotoxicity (liver toxicity). Monitor liver laboratory tests at least monthly. ZYKADIA can cause QTc interval prolongation (irregularity of the electrical activity of the heart). Monitor electrocardiograms (a test that measures the electrical activity of the heartbeat) in patients with heart problems. In addition to its desired action, Zykadia (Ceritinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain. It may cause bradycardia (slow heart rate), decreased appetite, and weight loss. It may cause skin rash, cough, fever, hyperglycemia (high blood sugar level). Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to ceritinib or any component of the formulation, congenital long QT syndrome (a hereditary cardiac disease). Taking Zykadia (Ceritinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Zykadia (Ceritinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
