Description
Atlas Theophylline (Theophylline) is a bronchodilator agent. It is typically used to treat airflow obstruction in patients with chronic asthma (a condition in which your airways narrow and swell and may produce extra mucus) or chronic lung disease (e.g., chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining that carries air to and from your lungs) and emphysema (damage to the walls of the air sacs (alveoli) of the lungs)). It may also have other uses.

Atlas Theophylline (Theophylline) is typically given 6 – 8 hours. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. This medication should be taken prior to meals or with milk. WARNING: Use with caution in patients with heart disease as it may increase the risk of arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats). Use with caution in patients with liver disease, seizure disorders (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain), hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid). Elderly patients are at a higher risk of developing severe side effects (careful monitoring is required). In addition to its desired action, Atlas Theophylline (Theophylline) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause tachycardia (fast heart rate), restlessness, agitation, difficulty sleeping. It may cause nausea, headache, loss of appetite, stomach pain. It may cause weakness or tiredness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Theophylline or any component of the formulation, coronary artery disease (a condition that affects your heart), peptic ulcers. Taking Atlas Theophylline (Theophylline) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
