Description
Trintellix (Vortioxetine) is an antidepressant agent. It is usually used to treat major depressive disorder (a severe mood disorder) in adults. It may also have other uses.

Trintellix (Vortioxetine) is typically used once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. May be administered without regards to meals. WARNING: May cause cause central nervous system depression, which may impair physical or mental abilities, patients must be cautioned about performing tasks that require mental alertness. Use with caution in patients with seizure disorders (disorder in which brain activity becomes abnormal). In addition to its desired action, Trintellix (Vortioxetine) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause abnormal dreams, suicidal tendencies, dry mouth. It may cause nausea, constipation, diarrhea, vomiting. It may cause sexual disorder, headache, dizziness. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to vortioxetine or any component of the formulation, use of MAO inhibitors (antidepressants) intended to treat psychiatric disorders (concurrently or within 21 days of discontinuing Trintellix or within 14 days of discontinuing the MAO inhibitor), initiation of Trintellix in a patient receiving linezolid or intravenous methylene blue. Taking Trintellix (Vortioxetine) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Trintellix (Vortioxetine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Trintellix (Vortioxetine)
