Description

Arazlo (Tazarotene) is an anti-acne agent. It is typically used to treat people 10 years of age and older with acne vulgaris (acne). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Arazlo (Tazarotene) is typically applied as a thin layer to cover the affected areas once a day on clean and dry skin. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. For face application, dot onto the chin, cheeks, nose, and forehead, then gently rub over the entire face. It is recommended that for children (10 to less than 12 years of age), Arazlo should be used on the face only. Wash your hands after applying the cream. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist.

WARNING: Do not use more than you need to cover the treated areas. Using too much Arazlo may increase the risk of skin irritation. If you develop skin irritations, your healthcare provider may tell you to use a moisturizer, decrease the number of times you apply the cream, or completely stop the treatment. Wind or cold weather may be more irritating to your skin during treatment with Arazlo. Arazlo can increase your chances of having sunburns. If you are going to be exposed to sunlight, you should use sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 and wear clothes that can protect you from the sun. This includes sunlamps. If you already have a sunburn, wait until it has healed before using the cream again.Tell your doctor if you spend a
lot of time in the sun, or if you sunburn easily. Avoid skin product (such as benzoyl peroxide) or cosmetics, including moisturizers, creams, lotions, or products that can dry out your skin.

In addition to its desired action, Arazlo (Tazarotene) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause skin dryness, peeling, redness, itching.
It may cause sensitivity to sunlight and an increased risk of sunburns.
It may cause back and joint pain, or painful menstrual periods.

Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Tazarotene, retinoids, or any component of the formulation, a skin condition known as seborrheic dermatitis, pregnancy or planning to become pregnant.

Taking Arazlo (Tazarotene) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.

A treatment with Arazlo (Tazarotene) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Arazlo (Tazarotene)
