Description
Cabometyx (Cabozantinib) is an anti-cancer agent. It is typically used for the treatment of kidney, liver and thyroid gland cancers. It may also have other uses.

Cabometyx (Cabozantinib)'s dosage depends on the condition, it is usually given once daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Administer on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after eating). WARNING: Cabozantinib may increase the risk of treatment-emergent hypertension (high blood pressure), Severe and fatal bleedings have occurred with cabozantinib, including Do not administer to patients who have a recent history of bleeding. Discontinue in case of stomach perforation. Use with caution in patient having liver impairment. These events may occur at anytime during therapy and without warning. In addition to its desired action, Cabometyx (Cabozantinib) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause headaches, dizziness and electrolytes imbalance. It may cause lung infections, nausea, constipation, vomiting and diarrhea. It may cause alopecia (hair loss), skin rash, viral infection, hyperglycemia (high sugar blood level). It may cause anemia (a condition in which you lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues), cough and shortness of breath. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity or severe allergy to cabozantinib or any component of the formulation. Taking Cabometyx (Cabozantinib) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Cabometyx (Cabozantinib) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
