Description

Carnitor (Levocarnitine) is a dietary supplement agent. It is usually used to treat carnitine deficiency (Carnitine is a natural substance that the body used to turn fat into energy). It may also have other uses.

Additional information

Carnitor (Levocarnitine) is typically used in divided doses daily (every 3 to 4 hours throughout the day). However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Oral solution is for oral use only, may be consumed alone or dissolved in either a drink or liquid food, and should be consumed slowly. Space doses every 3 to 4 hours evenly throughout the day, preferably during or following meals
WARNING: Use with caution in patients with seizure disorders or in those at risk of seizures (a sudden, uncontrolled electrical disturbance in the brain). Oral solution contains sucrose (sugar). Use with caution in diabetic patients (high blood sugar level) and those on a low calorie diet. In addition to its desired action, Carnitor (Levocarnitine) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause high blood pressure, chest pain.
It may cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, nausea.
It may cause headaches, dizziness, vision problems, shortness of breath. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to levocarnitine or any component of the formulation.
Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, or breastfeeding contact your family doctor.
A treatment with Carnitor (Levocarnitine) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Carnitor (Levocarnitine)
