Description
Flagyl (Metronidazole) is an antibiotic. It is typically used for vaginal infections. It is a condition that happens when there is too much of certain bacteria in the vagina. It may also have other uses.

Flagyl (Metronidazole) is typically used once to twice daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Do not use applicator after the 7th month of pregnancy. WARNING: Flagyl vaginal cream is for vaginal use only. Unnecessary use should be avoided. Prolonged use may result in fungal or bacterial superinfection (additional infection). Avoid using Flagyl vaginal cream when you are having your period. Avoid intercourse during use of Flagyl vaginal cream. Use with caution in patients with liver or blood disease. In addition to its desired action, Flagyl (Metronidazole) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause vaginal discharge, infection, headache, dizziness It may cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to metronidazole, parabens, or other ingredients of the formulation or other similar agents, use of alcohol or propylene glycol during therapy and for up to 24 hours after therapy discontinuation, use of disulfiram within the past 2 weeks, use during the first trimester of pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies have failed to demonstrate a risk to the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Pregnant women should try to avoid this agent during the first trimester. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Flagyl (Metronidazole) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Flagyl (Metronidazole)
