Description
Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) works by stopping certain cells of the immune system from causing damage. It is typically used to treat various forms of multiple sclerosis (disease that leads to inflammation and damage to parts of your central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord)). It may also have other uses.

Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab)'s dosage depends on the condition being treated. Your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) to you in a hospital or clinical setting. WARNING: Ocrevus affects your immune system. You may get infections more easily, even serious or fatal infections. If you've ever had hepatitis B (liver disease caused by a virus), it may become active or get worse while you are using or after you stop using ocrelizumab. In addition to its desired action, Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause skin infection, upper respiratory tract infections, peripheral edema (swelling). It may cause diarrhea, depression, back pain. Contraindications: History of life-threatening infusion reaction to ocrelizumab, active hepatitis B virus infection. Taking Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. There is no available data regarding the harm of Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) for the fetus, therefore it is not recommended to use it. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Ocrevus (Ocrelizumab) requires regular monitoring by a doctor.
