Description
Pred Douce (Prednisolone) is an ophthalmic agent. It is typically used to treat treat swelling and itching of the eye. It may also have other uses.

Pred Douce (Prednisolone) is usually applied as 1 to 2 drops in the affected eye(s) two to four times daily. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you miss a dose, contact your pharmacist. Shake the bottle well before using. Wash your hands. Tilt your head back and look at the ceiling. Gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket. If a drop misses your. eye, try again. Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze it gently to release one drop into the eyelid pocket. Let go of the lower lid and close your eye for 30 seconds. WARNING: In chronic conditions, withdraw therapy with gradual tapering of dose. Remove contacts prior to administration and wait 15 minutes before re-inserting. May contain sodium bisulfite, which may cause severe allergic reactions. In addition to its desired action, Pred Douce (Prednisolone) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause secondary eye infections, increased pressure in the eye and eye nerve damage. It may cause eye irritation, eye pain, visual disturbance and headache. Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to prednisolone, any component of the formulation, or other corticosteroids, untreated ocular infection (bacterial, viral, varicella and fungal), use after uncomplicated removal of a superficial corneal foreign body. Taking Pred Douce (Prednisolone) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant, contact your family doctor.
