Simple Syrup NF (Simple syrup) a syrup. It is a clear, light to dark yellow viscous syrup formulated to assist compounding pharmacists in the preparation of oral extemporaneous dosage forms.

Simple syrups are used as vehicles for drugs such as antibiotics (medications used to treat or prevent some types of bacterial infection), antihistamines (drugs commonly used to treat symptoms of allergies), antitussives (medicines that suppress coughing, also known as cough suppressants) and vitamins.
