Description
Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa) is an antiparkinsonian agent. It is typically used to treat Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a brain disorder that leads to shaking, stiffness and difficulty with walking, balance and coordination. It may also have other uses.

Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa) is typically used four times per day. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Important: Follow the instructions on the label. Do not use more of this product, or more often, than prescribed. If you forget a dose, contact your pharmacist. Space doses evenly over the waking hours. Administer with meals to decrease stomach upset. WARNING: Monitor for drowsiness or sleepiness. Use with caution in patients with cardiac problems, glaucoma (eye problem caused by increased pressure in the eye), liver impairment, history of sores, renal (kidney) impairment, respiratory disease. Use with caution in elderly patients. In addition to its desired action, Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa) may cause some side effects, notably: It may cause orthostatic hypotension (decrease in blood pressure within 3 minutes of standing) It may cause constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, dry mouth, nausea, dizziness, headache, abnormality or impairment of voluntary movement It may cause abnormal dreams Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to levodopa, carbidopa, or any component of the formulation, concurrent use with non selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (phenelzine and similar agents) or use within the last 14 days, narrow angle glaucoma. Taking Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor. A treatment with Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.Sinemet (Levodopa Carbidopa)
