Description

TNKase (Tenecteplase) is a thrombolytic agent. It is typically used to help your body produce a substance that dissolves unwanted blood clots. It may also have other uses.

Additional information

TNKase (Tenecteplase)'s dosage depends on the patient's weight. However, your doctor or pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Your doctor or nurse will administer TNKase (Tenecteplase) to you in a hospital or clinical setting.
WARNING: Use with caution in patients receiving anticoagulants (substance that slows or prevents the clotting of blood), because it increase the risk of bleeding. Use with caution in patients with advanced age (e.g., >75 years of age).
In addition to its desired action, TNKase (Tenecteplase) may cause some side effects, notably:
It may cause bleeding, blood in throat, blood in urine.
It may cause difficulty abdominal or stomach pain, back pain or back aches, headache.
It may cause fast, slow or irregular heartbeat.
Contraindications: Active internal bleeding, history of cerebrovascular accident (the sudden death of some brain cells due to lack of oxygen when the blood flow to the brain is impaired by blockage or rupture of an artery to the brain), recent (within 2 months) intracranial (within the skull)/intraspinal (within the spine) surgery, intracranial neoplasm (abnormal growths within the cranial cavity that may be composed of non-cancerous or cancerous cells), severe uncontrolled high blood pressure. Taking TNKase (Tenecteplase) during pregnancy may be harmful for the baby. Women of childbearing potential should use an effective contraceptive method. Pregnant women should not use this product. If you're planning a pregnancy or become pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your family doctor.
A treatment with TNKase (Tenecteplase) requires regular monitoring by a doctor. Be sure to see your doctor for all regularly scheduled appointments.TNKase (Tenecteplase)
